Trade 56 | Nathalie Bontoux
It is starting to become a running theme in conversations had during this project, spread across the variety of countries: individuals and groups revaluating and prioritising their approach to life and work. My time with Nathalie echoed that of my time with Annabelle (Trade 38); a women who had developed a very successful career in a fast paced company/work environment then willing stepped out and stepped back to take the time to reflect and try new things/whatever caught her interest.
With me joining in for a week these things included everything from a day trip to Lake Annecy with her family to salsa lessons, trying the new pizza place around the corner to detouring to explore a town she had always wondered about on a whim as well as a forgiveness workshop completely lost on me and my lack of French and the Lyon Beer Festival... that I had no trouble understanding.
This was the beginning of Nathalie's 11 month sabbatical and the plan is to cross paths to trade again at the end of it to try and capture what's changed and the impact it has.
