Trade 105 | Keen X Camp Wildfire
A funny thing happens when you arbitrarily assign a group of people to a set of tribes and have them compete over a weekend together in a forest somewhere in Kent. It all gets a bit intense. But not in any particularly serious manner when an awful lot of them are running around dressed as a mix of foxes, badgers, hawks & squirrels. With corresponding tribal chants and dance moves.
Keen Europe have been a previous trade on two other occasions (Trades 32 & 61) and they have kept me supplied with boots/shoes for the project since then. Headline sponsors for the sometimes surreal Camp Wildfire, they brought me over to photograph the spectacle of outdoor activities put on by the festival. This included a Keen’s obstacle course that, on the final crescendo of the Sunday evening, became the main event to dictate which animal patrol won the cup. It was all quite bizarre and wonderful.
