I had left finding hosts in Sydney a little last minute but fortunately the day before I flew Sarah, my extended family in Perth, put me in touch with an old college friend, Keren, who offered to host me and just like that I arrived in the land of Home & Away. Quite literally; they shoot the series on a beach up the road and had even used Keren's place as a set.
For the trade Keren's daughter took to a pole for a baffling range of acrobatics as I, rather less athletically, sat still to photograph the movement to Sydney's clear blue sky backdrop.
